Perfect Release (A.K.A. Perfect Einherjar Release) is a technique in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria that allows one to overpower their characters extremely late in the game. This is done by releasing Einherjar with the best equipment possible (non-unique).

Perfect Release can only be fully done will all Einherjar once you beat Frigga on the 4th Floor of the Seraphic Gate.

What Perfect Release Does[]

Perfect Release allows someone to give a character or characters high stats. The high stats happen because with Perfect Release, you get A LOT of stat boosting items from your Einherjar. This will allow you to Direct Assault even the toughest of bosses in the game.

How to do a Perfect Release[]

To be able to perform a perfect release, you need to have gotten to floor 5 of the Seraphic Gate. This is possible by exploring 96% of the Last Dungeon in the game, saving at the last save point, loading that save and then going out to the world map. After doing this, you will get to the Seraphic Gate.

After you get into the Seraphic, you need to beat Frigga to be able to access floor 5.

Before this though, you will have to fight the following bosses:

  • Dirna Hamilton - Need to beat to get access to the Seraphic Dungeon itself
  • Gabriel Celeste - Need to beat to get to floor 2.
  • Woden - Basically Odin, but with much, much higher stats. - Need to beat to get to floor 3.
  • Obsessed Ex - Basically the Trandescendal Being (Lezard) but with Higher Stats - Need to beat to get to floor 4.

After beating all those bosses, you'll have access to floor 4, where Frigga (Freya boss Modification) lies. After beating her, you'll get access to floor 5.

Floor 5 holds the last items required for Perfect Release. Also note that accessories will do nothing to affect Perfect Release.

Perfect Release Items[]

Note: By Enemy Type, it means what type of enemies you have to start a battle with on the map. There are 4 types:

Walking: Those Slow Walking Guys with 2 Legs.

Floating: The ones that look like a jellyfish and floats.

Flying: The ones that look like a bird and flies.

Crawling: The ones that look like crabs and crawls.

Mage Perfect Release[]

Mages are the easiest to Perfect Release because their equipment is easiest to hunt. Hard to get though, as you have to beat the 2nd to last boss in the Seraphic Gate 7 times (less if you can Direct Assault her). Mages are also your source of INT.

There are 7 mages so you'll need 7 of each item.

Weapon: Holy Wand of Telos[]

Location: Boss Room of Floor 5 of the Seraphic Gate

Enemy: Ethereal Queen

Just beat the Ethereal Queen to get the Wand.

Head: Mithril Crown[]

Location: Floor 3 of the Seraphic Gate

Enemy: Homonculus Copy

Drop Rate: Leader Item and 15% Get Item after Defeat.

Enemy Type: Walking

An Easy enemy to find, but might not be easy unless you've done any perfect releasing already. Just kill the guy and hope you get a Mithril Crown. (You will get a Crown if you Direct Assault the Copy)

Location: Boss Room of Floor 2 of the Seraphic Gate

Enemy: Woden

Drop Rate: Leader Item and 100% Get Item after Defeat.

Just beat Woden to get the Robe.

Enemy: Dryad

Drop Rate: 30% Chance after Breaking Lower Body

Enemy Type: Flying, Floating and Crawling

This might be hard to get. To increase your chances of breaking the lower body, try using Rufus with Blue Gale and dismantle with an attack which attacks towards the Dryad's lower body. Blue Gale gives 100% Critical Hit rate and Dismantle will make Rufus break the body part first go. You also have to make that 30% happen 7 times.

Light Warrior Perfect Release[]

Light Warriors don't really benefit your attack or magic power that greatly because of their weak weapons. They do increase other things though.

There are 4 Light Warriors.

Weapon: Helgi's Sword[]

Location: Tower of Lezard Valeth, 2nd Area (Forest) and 4th Area (Top)

Enemy: Nymph

Drop Rate: 15% Chance after breaking Headdress

To do this, try using Freya with Crisis Point to hit the headdress and then Heavenly Punishment to hit the headdress again if the headdress does not break. The Nymph will be on the floor when Freya uses Heavenly Punishment so Heavenly Punishment will hit the headdress.

Head: Ether Crown[]

Location: Seraphic Gate, Room behind left Sword Master on Floor 5.

Enemy: Gyne

Drop Rate: 15% Chance after kill.

This is hard to get, because for one, you need to get to the right enemy and then encounter Walther and Gyne (can be very hard). After you do encounter them, make sure you have a character with Ghost Buster (Walther and Gyne are ghostly after you beat them in Chapter 4). After you do encounter them and have Ghost Buster, just kill Gyne (leave Walther). After killing Gyne, Walther will bring him back using Invoke Feather so you can kill him again. Patience can only get you your Ether Crowns.
