The Dark Lord is a boss in Valkyrie Profile. He is a demonic ruler of the Arianrod Labyrinth.
Storyline[]

While investigating the Arianrod Labyrinth, Lenneth stumbles upon the Dark Lord upon reaching the 25th room. She proclaims to the demon that Midgard is not a place for him, but the Dark Lord replies that he has a thirst that must be quenched; when Lenneth asks, he replied that he thirsts for human soul, which is possibly why he created the Labyrinth in the first place – luring unwary humans in and devour their souls. Dismissing the demon as he claims that a goddess' soul may be able to satisfy him, Lenneth fights and eventually defeats the Dark Lord.

The Dark Lord is accompanied by two Demons "Vallan". He has four attacks:
- A normal attack.
- A double attack which does 2 hits.
- Insanity Blow which does 0.8x damage to the entire party and cannot be guarded/avoided.
- A deadly attack which does 3x damage that he will often use once his HP falls below 25% and are much more accurate than his normal and double attacks.
Due to his high ATK allowing him to cause serious damage, it is highly advisable to kill the Dark Lord before the two Demons "Vallan" that accompany him (by using bows and magic) since he will not attack while in the back row. However, the Dark Lord's high HP means that this might take some time; Might Reinforce, Spell Reinforce, and Sap Guard can be useful to speed up the process.
Alternatively, to prevent the Demons "Vallan" from causing too much damage on the party, especially by their Death Wish and unblockable attacks, the player can kill one of the Demons "Vallan" but keep the other alive so the Dark Lord remains on the back row, then focus on the Dark Lord as mentioned above.
